    Mindfulness Meditation “Loving Yourself” Recording

    May 31, 2019 / No Comments

New Recording – Mindfulness Meditation “Loving Yourself” By Emmy Vadnais, OTR/L  Listen Here  Here’s a new 10-minute guided mindfulness meditation I recorded that is easily accessible on YouTube that you can listen to for your own self-care. If you are a health care practitioner you can play for clients, or they can have as a tool they can use in between sessions, or after discharge. Read the researched benefits of meditation here.  * Do not listen to this recording while driving a car. Once practiced enough you can bring these concepts into your activities of daily living – ADLs.

    Love is the Greatest Healer

    May 1, 2019 / No Comments

By Emmy Vadnais, OTR/LOriginally published at I Love You Institute What is Love?  “I love you.” Isn’t that what we long to hear? How often do you hear it or say it? How often do you feel love?   Love is what everyone seems to be looking for – to be seen, valued, accepted, cared for, cherished or adored, treated with kindness, and to feel pleasure and connected instead of isolated and alone. Love is what unites us instead of dividing us. We are social creatures and we need each other to survive, learn, and grow.  Truth, beauty and wisdom may be synonymous with love. Many believe one of the reasons we are here on this earth is to learn how to love. Some consider it…

How an Attitude of Gratitude Can Improve Your Life

    November 17, 2017 / No Comments

By Emmy Vadnais, OTR/L What are Your Grateful For? Taking a few moments each day or weekly to have an attitude of gratitude may improve your life. Research supports findings that there is an association with gratitude and an overall sense of well being. “Gratitude is the appreciation of what is valuable and meaningful to oneself and represents a general state of thankfulness and/or appreciation.” ~ Sansone & Sansone, 2010 Focus on What’s Right It may seem more easy to focus on what you feel may be going “wrong” in your life or what you want to improve, instead of focusing on what is going well. It can be helpful to…

    Happy Summer Soul-stice!

    June 21, 2017 / No Comments

How is your beginning of summer? Maybe it is full of energy, fun, with a mix of completing to-do lists while trying to have more rest and relaxation. Today is the day with the most light and energy – I like to think of it as the Soul-stice. It is an auspicious day where we can pause half way through the year, reflect on the past, and consider setting creative intentions for your life going forward. The summer is when our hearts can be the most open, as the summer light is connected to our soul or heart’s light. Questions to reflect upon: What brings you joy? What makes you…

Listen to Your Heart – For these Benefits

    June 29, 2016 / No Comments

Heart as the Center of the Seat of Consciousness You probably often hear “Listen to your heart.” How often do you really do this, and what does the really mean? Shouldn’t we be rational and not too overly emotional? If I’m listening to my heart does that mean I’m not listening to another part of myself? When I was learning meditation, energy healing, and developing my intuitive abilites one of the constant themes was “getting out of the head,” and into the heart or the intuitive self. A few practices I was given were to directly bring my attention to and into my heart, and another was to develop the…
