Happy New YOU in 2017!

Happy New Year to you! We say it every year, and it’s another chance to look at our lives and see what is working for us and what we might like to change. We can certainly do this every day, but this time of year gives us more pause for reflection looking back and pondering a direction as we look forward.

What Do You Want to Create in Your life?

What are your dreams, goals, and desires? Are you really doing exactly what you would like to be doing? I understand that life sometimes gives you circumstances that seemingly keep you from creating what you want. We may not realize it, but often times we are the ones standing in our own way.

Your thoughts, belief patterns, and emotions may be keeping you from reaching your dreams. Sometimes, we can feel that what we really want will be hard, or we have all sorts of preconceived notions of how difficult it might be to get there, or we project our pain and say that others are “causing” our problems, and deny our role in it.

What Do You Want to Release?

What I have noticed, working with many people overcoming limiting beliefs who then go on to realize their dreams, is that it can be a gentle unfolding that is not as painful as they thought it would be. As they receive support through various healing approaches they are able to release each layer of pain and disconnection. They increase their self-love and self-acceptance. They’re more easily able to forgive themselves and others.

New empowering ideas, thoughts, and beliefs replace the old ones. Their intuition speaks to them. They’re able to listen. Then, they become inspired and find a road map that brings them closer to their hearts’ desires.

Is Everything Really ‘Fine’ in Your Life?

It’s easy to get stuck in a rut or become complacent. Experiences in life can get us down. But when you look at your life, your experiences day to day, and how you feel inside – is it fulfilling you? Or are you settling?

Even if you feel you’re in a circumstance “for the kids” or “to maintain an income” you can still address your thoughts and beliefs to feel more positive and create more time to do what you love.

What Do You Want to Improve?

What are your dreams? Go ahead, dream a little… or a lot…

Take a moment to reflect on or write down (a journal is best for this) what they are…

Now, write down all the reasons and beliefs as to why you can’t achieve this…

Pay attention to the feelings in your body… your energy… the sensations… the emotions…

Engage in a relaxing activity for 10 – 60 minutes, whether it is a formal relaxation or meditation practice, or going for a walk in nature, taking a warm bath or shower, coloring… it can be any activity that gets you out of your normal every day thoughts, not thinking of the past or future…

Bring your awareness to your heart, the you-ness that is unconditional love…

Observe the beliefs, the thoughts, the “yeah, buts”, the emotions… and the body sensations

Be present with them… bring love to them and non-judging awareness

Let go of judging yourself… observe the judgment… shame… or anything else… even if it is for one minute…

How do you feel now? What are you thinking now?

Reflect on this… perhaps write this down.

If you received any new positive insight, take special note of this… this is your intuition – your inner wisdom speaking to you… that is always available to you when you take time to quiet the mind… and listen…

You can also consult with your inner wisdom in this guided meditation. (Do not listen to while driving or engaging in an activity that requires all of your attention.)

How Will You Get There?

We are more infinitely wise than we give ourselves credit. Much of this you can do on your own. However, if you find you’re getting in your own way or would like to expedite the process, consider contacting me to assist you. I’d be more than happy to help you.
