The Part I title of Mayo Clinic Guide to Alternative Medicine 2011 is “Today’s New Medicine: Making Wellness the Focus of Care.” In this introduction, it says: “As studies continue to reveal the important role the mind plays in healing and in fighting disease, a transformation is slowly taking place in hospitals and clinics across the country.
