"What Color is My Energy?"
Recently I’ve been asked a lot about colors: “Why do I see this color when I meditate?”, “What do colors mean?” and “What color is my energy?” Colors may indicate and represent a myriad of things. While there is a whole school of thought with Color Therapy that may show you the way, you may first want to explore what a particular color means to you. For example, when resting with your eyes closed and you begin to see yellow, notice how does that color make you feel? What does yellow mean to you? What does it seem to be conveying to you? Acupressure – The Power of Touch
One of the most fundamental ways we show care, love, and healing is through touch. When a part of us is hurting we apply touch to bring attention to the areas such as when we bump our arm we automatically apply gentle pressure to the area to protect it and stimulate healing. Mayo Clinic Gives Green Light to Many Alternative Medicines
The Part I title of Mayo Clinic Guide to Alternative Medicine 2011 is “Today’s New Medicine: Making Wellness the Focus of Care.” In this introduction, it says: “As studies continue to reveal the important role the mind plays in healing and in fighting disease, a transformation is slowly taking place in hospitals and clinics across the country. Davidson and his team at UW Madison (to name a few), research is demonstrating that we have more power than we thought (pun intended!) to have lasting positive impacts on ourselves. In fact, it seems that our minds and our bodies are in separable. So much so that Candace Pert uses the term “bodymind” to describe that they are one. Dr.…

Psychoneuroimmunology
What a big word! What does it mean? Let’s break it down. Psych – having to do with the mind, thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behavior, neuro – having to do with our nervous system that is electric and intricate busy sending and receiving signals, assisting all functions of the body while helping us sense and interact with the world, immuno – our immune system, our ability or lack there of to resist illness and maintain health, ology – the study of. So, if we put it all together, Psychoneuroimmunology is the study of how our thoughts, feelings, emotions and behavior affect our nervous and immune systems and vice versa. Pretty cool. This is the mind-body connection. Candace Pert, Ph. D. in…
