Intuitive Psychology ~ Accessing Inner Wisdom for Guidance, Direction & Mental Health

One of my favorite ways of helping people and for my own self care is to access Intuition or inner wisdom.

There are various ways for you to connect with your Intuition. In fact many of us may do this many times throughout our day and not realize it. You may wonder when you are intuiting, how to access it, trust it, and count on it.

Intuition can be accessed when the mind is calmer, more reflective, and detached from every day thoughts and emotions. This is why meditation is the preferred method of choice that has been around for thousands of years cross-culturally – it quiets the mind. When the mind is more still you can listen. 

The key feature in meditation is the relaxation response. When we’re more relaxed physically and mentally we can be more receptive. Any activity that brings you into a relaxed state may assist you such as, listening to music, going for walk in nature, gardening, baking, taking a bath or shower – and of course meditation, as long as it takes you out of your every day thinking of the past or future.

I have been teaching “Intuitive Development” courses since 2006. In an effort to train more health care practitioners the course is now called “The Power of the Mind in Healing: How Meditation, Relaxation, Spirituality & Intuition Can Enhance Health & Healing.” Anyone is welcome to take this class.

There are a couple of health care practitioners who are part of my 2 Year Holistic Healing Certificate Program. They are now in the second year putting into practice everything they have learned in the first year.

Last night, they were practicing their Intuitive abilities with their own Intuitive Cards that I taught them to make as part of the Power of the Mind in Healing class. The cards are similar to how people use Tarot as a spiritual tool for understanding the journey as a soul in this lifetime.

They make their own cards with their own images. They then ask questions to help with them with guidance, direction, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being, and to provide insight on why something might be occurring or the best choice to make. Sometimes, the messages from the Intuitive Cards require more symbolic interpretation than others. Sometimes, they are very clear.

One of the students is in a new relationship since her divorce. This card spread clearly answered one of her questions: “What is the energy around if I can trust my significant relationship and is there a future for us?” These were the cards she pulled.

These cards provided clear messages and validation for her that the relationship and significant other is trustworthy and authentic with their feelings, for her to have an open mind to trust this, and that there is a real commitment there if and when she is ready. She recognized that she needs to heal from her previous relationship, to be open, and to learn to trust once again.

I wanted to share this with you as it is a very clear example of how it can help with guidance, direction, relationships, mental health, and sprituality.

This is just one of the hundreds of examples I have experienced guiding people to listen to their Intuition and how Intuitive Cards and a meditative state may assist you.
