"What Color is My Energy?"

Recently I’ve been asked a lot about colors: “Why do I see this color when I meditate?”, “What do colors mean?” and “What color is my energy?”

Colors may indicate and represent a myriad of things. While there is a whole school of thought with Color Therapy that may show you the way, you may first want to explore what a particular color means to you. For example, when resting with your eyes closed and you begin to see yellow, notice how does that color make you feel? What does yellow mean to you? What does it seem to be conveying to you? Does yellow mean sunshine and happiness? What might it connect you with? Perhaps a lemon. What might a lemon indicate to you? Maybe you’ve been feeling down and a bit of happiness and brightness would be welcome.

A few of the folks who have asked about color have been seeing purple. When we think of the color spectrum: ROYGBIV – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, we notice that the highest vibrating frequency is violet or purple. Many spiritual teachers and energy healers advocate visualizing this color surrounding what needs support; i.e. your whole body, your home, a loved one, or earth. It is known as the violet flame of transformation.

As an energy healer, I often find myself using white light when clearing and balancing energy channels and fields. White light encompasses the whole color spectrum. Sometimes, a certain color such as pink or green is more indicated. Pink may assist a person connect more with love vs. judgment or despair. Green may bring in grounding and connectedness from earth, washing away the old and bringing in new and fresh life.

Trust what colors you may perceive in a particular part of your body as clues to what you may need, or what it may be trying to tell you.

The Chakra System, at its most basic level, is comprised of seven main energy centers that correlate to all of your internal organs, and your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual self. While it is helpful to listen to and understand what colors come forward to you, you can also balance your energy with colors.

Here is a simple Chakra Meditation to balance and align your Energy Field (Aura) of your Mind, Body, and Spirit.

1.       Begin with your First Chakra, located at your perineum, at the base of your spine – Visualize Red.

2.       Moving to your Second Chakra, located just below your belly button – Visualize Orange.

3.       Now to your Third Chakra, located at the center of you abdomen, just below the sternum – Visualize Yellow.

4.       Now to your Fourth Chakra, located in the center of your chest, in your heart area – Visualize Green.

5.       Continuing to you Fifth Chakra, located at your throat area – Visualize Blue.

6.       Moving to your Sixth Chakra, located at the forehead, the area between your eyes – Visualize Indigo.

7.       Finally to your Seventh Chakra, at the top of your head – Visualize Violet.

8.       Visualize – White Light in your body and surrounding your whole body.

Regarding the question “What color is my energy?”, it will likely change based on your moods, transitions in life, and your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. At your core Soul-level, the color of you is often constant. You will discover and touch this beautiful part of you through deep meditation. Trust what your Intuition shares with you.  This is you in all of your beautiful colors!

    Hi Emmy,
This is nice to know. Thank you for sharing. I enjoy your words and beliefs. I share in your desire to assist those who are suffering and lost… although I do not have a “formal education” in reading energies, or auras… something I’ve developed on my own over the years. I would like to expand my horizons in this field and would appreciate any guidance you may have to offer.
    Thank you Emmy,
    Grace

Hi Emmy. I ran accrossed this article this morning and liked it so much I saved it to my bookmarks. What a great fast way to balance!! I will be doing this visualizationevery day! I have been wanting to find out what my main color is. When I do deep meditations I really don’t see a color. Could you help me on this? Thank you so much!! Manda 🙂

      Hi Manda!

I’m glad this is helpful for you! To discover your main color, close your eyes and let yourself go in to a meditation by sitting or lying down, focusing on your breath and letting yourself relax perhaps by gently inviting relaxation in to each body part one at a time going from your feet to your head, or head to feet. Let the tension melt from your body and mind. Then, visualize your body and the area a foot or two around it. Notice if you begin to see a color that is more consistent throughout your body and your auric (energy) field surrounding you.

Sometimes, we can try too hard. So, let yourself enjoy your meditations of exploring your energy. In time, you may discover a more consistent color or two that seems to be present.

I never deliberately searched for my own color. However, one day, after several years of meditating I saw blue, yellow, and white strongly in and around my body. You may find consistent colors, but don’t let your search for this derail you from your mediation practices. It will come to you when the time is right.

At the end of the day, I believe all of us are Light Beings who embody all of the spectrum of color of White Light.

      All the Best to You,
      Emmy Vadnais
